Product Care Instructions

TAGUA & FOREST SEED JEWELRY

Tagua and other forest seeds are very durable, but not waterproof. Water can cause the beads to crack or warp. To keep your tagua nut jewelry beautiful do not submerse it in water. Allow lotions, perfumes and other liquids to dry before putting on your tagua jewelry.

You can use natural wax such as beeswax to hand polish and buff tagua beads to a beautiful shine. Typically this can be done once per year or when you feel it is needed.

BRASS JEWELRY

Brass will naturally oxidize and darken over time. To slow this process you can store your jewelry in a clear plastic bag with an anti tarnish strip. Avoid getting your jewelry wet and allow all liquids to dry before putting your jewelry on.

You can polish brass with a jewelry polishing cloth, such as a Sunshine Cloth available to purchase on Amazon.com. You can also mix a paste of baking soda, lemon juice and water and gently clean the jewelry with a soft cloth. However, this mixture should not be used on tagua nuts or forest seeds.

GOLD AND SILVER PLATED JEWELRY

Metal jewelry should be stored in a dry, sealed container with an anti tarnish strip. Avoid humid or wet areas. Allow all liquids to dry before putting your jewelry on.

Clean plated jewelry with a mild soap or soft cloth. Avoid jewelry polishing clothes unless they are specifically for plated metals as they can strip the finish off your jewelry. Buffing the jewelry with a soft cloth is an easy, safe way to keep it clean.

STERLING SILVER AND 14K GOLD FILL JEWELRY

For best results, store sterling silver and 14k gold fill jewelry in an air tight container such as a small, zip-lock bag. An anti tarnish strip will help the metal to stay clean and shiny. Avoid moisture, harsh chemicals and liquids on your jewelry. Clean with a soft cloth after wearing.

A jewelry polishing cloth, such as a Sunshine Cloth, can be used on sterling silver or 14k gold fill jewelry. Follow the instruction that come with the cloth and be sure to only use a jewelry polishing cloth or cleaner that is intended for sterling silver or 14k gold fill jewelry.
